What Sets the eSprinter Apart From Conventional Vans?

Most conventional vans tend to have significant fuel requirements, leading to increased costs and a larger carbon footprint. However, the 2024 eSprinter helps to cut down on these issues significantly. The all-new eSprinter features notable technical innovations to make it among the most powerful electric vans on the market, including a modular construction that allows it to be built virtually identical to the original Sprinter.

The power train is broken into three modules, including the high-voltage hardware in the front, the battery pack underneath, and the e-motor in the back. This means you get the same level of performance as a traditional Sprinter van with much less environmental impact than a typical van.

eSprinter Performance Features

The eSprinter features a 113 kWh battery along with an electric motor that comes in two different power levels – 100 kW and 150 kW for a bit more power. The standard 100kW output motor offers up to 134 horsepower, while the improved output of the 150 kW offers an estimated increase of up to 201 hp.

The battery has both AC and DC charging capabilities, which offer charge times of:

  • AC: 12-13 hours from a 240-volt home charging unit
  • DC: From 10-80% charge in as little as 42 minutes using 115 kW

The 113 kWh battery offers incredible ranges for an electric van at 248.5 miles on the highway and 311 miles in the city.

Interior and Cargo Space

Of course, one major feature you need in your commercial van is sufficient cargo space – which the eSprinter has in spades. Being that it is built on the same frame as traditional Sprinter vans, you get an estimated 488.1 cubic feet of cargo volume. This is plenty for a whole range of business needs, from hauling furniture during an office move to taking materials to a construction site. Furthermore, the eSprinter crew van seats up to 12, making it ideal for many purposes, including transporting your team and upfitting as a shuttle van.

Discover the Cutting-Edge Technology Inside the eSprinter

No need to worry about a lack of information behind the wheel of your eSprinter, as it comes equipped with the latest generation of MBUX. This is the Mercedes-Benz digital infotainment system, which offers real-time range, topography of the route, and the best charging strategy to get to destinations.
