Mercedes-AMG® GT Coupe Review

The Mercedes-AMG GT has long been known for its performance, and the 2024 lineup is certainly worth getting excited about. The new lineup features four models, two including hybrid assist and the top-end model being a plug-in hybrid. 

Of course, as a Mercedes-Benz, the AMG® GT comes jam-packed with a wide array of tech and luxury features. 

Performance & Charging

The first two models, the GT43 and GT53, feature a 3.0 inline-six with a turbocharger, intercooler, electric supercharger, and electric motor for hybrid assist. The GT43 caps out at a horsepower of 362, with the GT53 sitting at 429. 

The most exciting part of the 2024 lineup is the addition of the plug-in hybrid model, the GT63 S E-Performance. It employs a rear-mounted electric motor to deliver a whopping 831 horsepower and 1082 lb-ft of torque. The electric motor is fed by an onboard 6.1-kWh battery, which is charged via a 3.7-kW AC charger. 

The exact range specifications for the U.S. market model have not been released yet. However, according to the data from Europe, it gets roughly a 7-mile all-electric range. 

Design

The exterior of the AMG® GT shares similar looks to that of the Mercedes-Benz CLS. An updated grille, smooth curves, and a coupe design make for an elegant vehicle that packs a punch. A rear spoiler adds the finishing touch to give it that sporty appearance it deserves. It comes in 10 colors, including polar white, obsidian black, and more. 

Technology

Of course, any driver of a Mercedes-Benz expects a high-tech and luxurious experience, and the AMG® GT delivers on that. The cockpit features reconfigurable dual 12.3-inch displays that deliver all pertinent readouts, color display buttons, and a central touchscreen. 

The system features the latest version of MBUX with a personal voice assistant. Throughout the cabin, 64 color LED lights create an aura of ambiance.
