The 2023 model year sees the popular Mercedes-Benz GLC return once again, as part of a redesign and relaunch that brings together aesthetic and tech elements in an updated, modern package. Many of the changes to the G-Wagen series of Mercedes-Benz vehicles for the new model year have been subtle, and this is certainly true of the GLC too – however, there are still plenty of new features that will delight drivers in 2023.

Let’s get straight into it, answering some of the most frequently asked questions about the brand new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC.

The Mercedes-Benz luxury GLC SUV starts at around $55,850 for the basic trim level 300 model, rising to $69,350 for the AMG® GLS model. Other trim levels may be available at different price points.

The new GLC is being constructed at Mercedes-Benz’s plant in Pune, India.

The GLC 200 and 300 achieve around 29 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway, extending to 40 MPG and 45 MPG, respectively, on the GLC 220 d model. The GLC 300 e and 400 e hybrid models are also available, both achieving 294 MPG in town and 392 MPG on the highway.

Fans of the GLC series will love the updated model, mainly thanks to the fact that it retains the great performance of earlier iterations while adding Mercedes-Benz’s much-vaunted MBUX infotainment system. Onboard controls have also received an upgrade, shifting from the more traditional knobs to futuristic touch panels. As we’ve noted, though, the changes are relatively minor, and you might want to wait a few years to upgrade if you’ve recently bought a new GLC.

There is no vehicle that holds its original retail value permanent, but the 2023 GLC is expected to hold its value competitively, experiencing the same rate of decline as other vehicles in the class. You can expect the car’s value to fall by 48% after three years of ownership when bought new.

What are the New Features of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

The new Mercedes-Benz GLC adheres to the strict safety standards common to all vehicles across the range, although there are no major updates in this area.

Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX infotainment system is one of the most important updates to the new GLC luxury SUV, ushering in an enhanced experience for driver and passenger alike.

Subtle stylistic updates include a redesigned front grille and headlamp configuration – the main aesthetic addition to the GLC for the new model year.

Plug-in hybrid models will be released after the initial launch of the new GLC, dramatically expanding the range while reducing the operating costs of the vehicle. The AMG® version will also enhance the performance of the vehicle, although this will sacrifice some of its fuel efficiency.

The new GLC adds 2.4 inches to the wheelbase. So, while there are no major alterations to interior upholstery and design, increased legroom and cargo-carrying capability will boost the feelings of luxury for both driver and passengers.
