2010 Mercedes-Benz Lineup Offering HD Radio(TM) Technology
Newest Generation of CL, CLS, E-Class Coupe, E-Class, S-Class, and SLK Class Vehicles Highlight Superior Digital Entertainment in Premium Features Packages.
iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital
HD Radio(TM) Technology
for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, today announced the expanded
availability of factory-installed HD Radio(TM) Technology across
2010 Mercedes-Benz models equipped with the brand’s premium feature packages. The newest generations of
Mercedes-Benz automobiles offering this superior in-vehicle digital upgrade include the
2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe, E-, CL-, CLS-, S- and
SLK-Class vehicles.
“We commend
Mercedes-Benz USA
for extending the availability of its premium feature packages to more
of its newest automobiles, continuing to be a true innovator in
providing excellence in design and performance,” said Jeff Jury, Chief
Operating Officer of iBiquity Digital. “Mercedez-Benz drivers expect
leading technologies, and the superior sound quality and clarity
delivered by HD Radio entertainment will serve to enhance their
experience.”
In August 2008, Mercedes-Benz first announced its
commitment to offer HD Radio(TM) Technology as a factory-installed
option on several of the 2009 model-year vehicles, including the M-,
R-, GL-, G-Class SUVs and
E-Class vehicles. Doubling its HD
Radio Technology offering, in March 2009, Mercedes-Benz expanded the
availability of the digital technology beyond the originally announced
five models in adding five model-year 2010 vehicles, including the CL-,
CLS-,
E-Class Coupe (formerly CLK), S-, and
SLK-Class models. Currently, five of the
newest Mercedes-Benz models offer
HD Radio Technology as part of a premium features package and five more
models will have HD Radio Technology as standard equipment (CL, CLS, G,
S, and SLK).
The HD Radio platform enables radio broadcasters to
program new channels with unique content in crystal-clear digital
sound. There are currently more than 2,000 stations in the country
broadcasting in digital, with over 1,000 HD2/HD3 multicast channels.
